Inkscape is one of the open source graphics application, if your buddy windows users may already be familiar with the name Corel, and for users of Linux Inkscape can be used as a substitute for Corel in windows. Inkscape GUI display is rather different from corel draw, but because the wine does not support corel draw then Inkscape was the alternative. Inkscape is already available for Windows or Mac.

 

For installation means in debian and its derivatives. (ubuntu via software center)

• apt-get update
  apt-get install inkscape 

To fedora and derivatives 

• yum update
  yum install inkscape
