Today I’m debunking yet another scam website that pretends to have a PS4 Jailbreak for you: jailbroken dot co.
PS4 Jailbreak – is this real?
According to that site, they have Jailbreaks and exploits available for PS3, iPhone, Android, and PS4. They also have links to some homebrews. Unlike most PS4 Jailbreak scams I’ve seen so far, the site is designed in a pretty clever way: most of the information they have on their pages is legit, except for the PS4 part. As such, the site relies on some proven information about PS3 hacks and PS3 homebrews, even linking to legit sites.
Someone who’s unaware of the techniques used by scam websites such as jailbroken[.]co could be led to believe they’re a legit site, because most of their stuff points to sites that have a good reputation.
It all goes downhill as soon as you go into the PS4 section, of course. The site pretend they have a PS4 Jailbreak working up to the latest firmware, and confirmed to work with a very recent date to trick you into believing the thing’s real and fresh.
They give you all the “steps” to successfully downgrade your 3.15 PS4. It all assumes, of course, that you download the jailbreak from their site, and this is were they’re going to trick you, get paid for it, and leave you with nothing.

Their money grabbing scheme is fairly typical and should not surprise most of you who have been on the scene for a while, but it goes like this:
jailbroken dot co pretends that in order to download their PS4 jailbreak file, you’ll have to answer a survey first. They get paid by an advertising company once you complete the survey. But of course once you’re done you’ll never see a download link appear. I’ve tried a few surveys so you don’t have to, and I can confirm that the only thing that happened to me after completing the surveys was a massive loss of time, and my email address (a temporary one I created to answer the survey) has beenregistered to a dozen of marketing campaigns to ensure it’ll receive a fair amount of spam daily.
I can confirm that all those surveys will take a lot of your time, several of them will take your money, and none of them will give you a jailbreak
The result is the following: you spend time answering a survey, get subscribed to a bunch of fishy marketing mailing lists, and the jailbroken dot co page keeps saying it’s waiting for you to complete the survey. The more gullible among us might want to try another survey, losing more time, and sending even more money to the scammers
Beware as some of these surveys actually ask you to purchase something in order to enter a sweepstake. Don’t get tricked by scam sites such as Jailbroken[.]co. If you see some people asking if that site is for real, kindly point them to this article, or to our PS4 Jailbreak page, which has the latest and relevant information on the subject.
When a real PS4 Jailbreak is made public, trusted scene websites such as wololo.net will be the first ones to let you know about it. As a rule of thumb, if a site is trying to get you to answer a survey in order todownload a PS4 Jailbreak, it is most likely a scam.
